" A Comprehensive Blueprint
for Global actions to affect the transition to Sustainable Development"
|

“Agenda 21 constitutes the
most comprehensive & far reaching programme of action ever approved by
the world community. For the first time in international politics we have
concensus that the future of our planet is at stake if we do not reverse
the process of abusing it”...

| UN Agenda 21 is a long detailed document that took numerous commitees over four years to write. Its ratification & adoption by heads of state at Rio was a major historical landmark, heralding the begining of an era within which ‘progress’ has been internationally acknowledged, at the highest levels, as destructive & potential life threatening to all creatures on earth, ourselves included. UN Agenda 21 is an internationally agreed frame work within which we can all work....towards a common aim, in our common interest. It describes how sustainable development can be achieved & sets out clearly what needs to be done, whilst acknowledging the necessity for willing & active participation not only of governments, national & local, but also of each community & each individual. UN Agenda 21 recognises and re-affirms the power of the individual, the true unit of humanity, and the fact that we all have a say & a part to play. | ||||
